General organisation:

a-lessons' topics. All the topics will be in form of ppt or doc that will be mdae available at the end of the frontal lecture

b-Frontal lessons will be basically made up on a problem-based cases as interactive clinical cases. Lessons will follow a specific program in attach
Mandatory practical exercises will be dedicated to the following topics:

Basic CPR-D (4 hrs)
Approach to the trauma patient (4 hrs)
Advanced clinical casess (4 hrs)
They will take place at the Simnova simulation centre, Istituto dei Salesiani, via Lanino 1 / Ferrucci 33, 3° piano.

Students will be organised in small groups that will be assigned to specific topics on a rotation basis (as stated in the yearly program.

The professionalizing internship provides for the mandatory attendance of the Emergency Department of the Maggiore Hospital according to the attached scheme. The frequency of the operating theaters and the Intensive Care Unit can instead be agreed on a voluntary basis with Prof. Della Corte.

The program proposes an approach to clinical problems for the most part known by the students, but faced according to a methodology proper to the emergency conditions.
This methodology goes beyond the traditional schemes of the nosographic classification of diseases, trying to go through the criteria for defining severity and symptomatic approach, postponing the goal of a refined and definitive diagnosis.
This approach takes into account the need to guarantee the student the ability to face a clinical condition where the decision on medical behavior must be rapid and aimed at stabilizing and improving the patient's clinical conditions by acting according to largely codified schemes.
Handling emergency situations personally will probably be one of the first tasks in the young doctor's professional activity; this frequently occurs in the absence of specific experience that puts him in a position to be able to deal with them with confidence and professionalism. The course will also provide learners with the basic elements for the health management of maxi-emergencies and disasters.

The course has not been blocked from previous years but it is hoped to have passed pharmacology, medical and surgical clinic

All lesson topics will be prepared in .pwp and / or text files that will be made available at the end of the lessons

The lessons, in frontal teaching during the scheduled hours, will mostly have a problem-based imprint with interactive clinical cases
Lessons will be held according to the attached program

Admission to the exam will be linked to the frequency of lessons, the frequency of exercise activities (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation courses, Approach to the traumatized patient).

The final exam will consist of a preliminary test of 80 quizzes focused on the topics and material presented in the course. The first 40 quizzes will be considered basic for passing the course, and the student must correctly answer at least 25 in order to pass the exam
