The course aims to strengthen the language skills learned in the first year. The grammatical, syntactic and morphological skills of the Arabic language will be expanded. The aim of the course is also to make the student reach the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Knowledge of Arabic equal to the content of the first year Arabic language course.

45 hours of lessons. Classroom attendance is strongly recommended to allow students face to face interaction with the teacher and the other students.

Support activities with the teacher, by appointment.

Written test lasting two hours which includes questions on the grammatical topics covered in class, vocalization exercises and translation.

The following topics will be dealt with during the course:
1. Nominal morphology (gender, number, agreement and construct state).
2. Triptotal and diptotal declension.
3. Pronoun: personal, demonstrative, interrogative and relative.
4. Basics on numerals.
5. The plural and the dual.
6. Syntax: the nominal and verbal phrase.
7. Roots and patterns, use of the dictionary.

The level of Arabic to be reached at the end of the course is A2 of the CEFR.
The course includes the acquisition of grammatical, syntactic and lexical skills essential for reading and understanding texts in Modern Standard Arabic. Students will also develop oral and written communication skills in relation to daily conversation.
The course develops practical skills in translation from Arabic to Italian and from Italian to Arabic.
