Learning Outcomes
the course has the objective to provide the basic knowledge for calculating the concentrations of the solutions in the various forms that are commonly used in the laboratory whether chemical and pharmacological. At the end of the course students should be able to apply theoretical formulas to practical problems of dilution and preparation of solutions of known titre.
Provide students the essential elements of organic chemistry to critically
approach the study of complex biomolecules
Prerequisites
Main concepts developed in the course of General Chemistry (chemical
bond, equilibria, kinetics and thermodynamics of chemical processes)
Teaching Methods
Exercises and problems will be solved and discussed during the course.
The slides are available on the website in advance of the start of the courses

written examination with problems on the preparation of standard solutions of various salts and inorganic compounds and the determination of the concentration of solutions of unknown titre
The exam will be a set of multiple-choice questions aimed at developing

2. Covalent, ionic and polar covalent chemical bonds: properties and geometry-1
3. Lewis structural formulas and formal charges and resonance formulas

5. Functional groups and their influence on physical and chemical properties (acidity and basicity)

6. Inter- and intra-molecular interactions and their effect on properties and reactivity
7. Nomenclature of organic compounds

8. Isomerism: definition and classification
