Course Contents
Etiopathogenesis, pathophysiology, presentation, and diagnosis of selected disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system. Elements of clinical neurophysiology.
Anatomy, physiology, and pathology of major cognitive functions. Main methods for assessing cognitive deficits.
Selected aspects of neurosurgical pathology.
Principles of pharmacology: pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Drugs acting on the neuromuscular junction and the cholinergic system. Antihypertensives.

Learning Outcomes
The course aims to foster knowledge and understanding of the essential aspects—including etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, and treatment—of selected disorders affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems and muscles. Particular attention will be paid to neurocognitive functions, key neurosurgical conditions, and indications for physiotherapy.
Students will also be introduced to the basic principles of general pharmacology and the pharmacological treatment of conditions of major professional relevance.
Prerequisites
The student has to possess basic knowledge in the field of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the nervous system.

Assessment Methods
The exam will consist of a written test featuring open-ended and multiple-choice questions covering the topics outlined in the course syllabus.
The exam comprises 75 questions, distributed as follows:
- 30 questions on neurology
- 15 questions on neurosurgery
- 15 questions on neuropsychology
- 15 questions on pharmacology

To pass, students must answer 60% of the questions correctly across all subjects (18/30, 9/15).

Expected Learning Outcomes
The student must show adequate knowledge and understanting (and ability to apply them) of the essential aspects of the disease dealt with in the course, and their implications in physical medicine/ rehabilitation
