The course aims to provide a basic knowledge of the processes and historical events that characterize the contemporary age.Special attention will be paid to the Cultural History and media.

The two volumes (L'Ottocento, Il Novecento) by Tommaso Detti e Giovanni Gozzini published by Pearson (2021)are among the reference texts for both attending and non-attending students. The course will focus the students' attention on the main historical processes characterizing the contemporary, focusing above all on the history of the twentieth century. articular interest will be devoted to cultural phenomena, focusing on the transformations experienced in the contemporary age by the media system and communication languages.
