ETHNO-ANTROPOLOGICAL CULTURAL HERITAGE

Objectives - knowledge and comprehension: to achieve the basic knowledge about the formation of demo-ethno-antropological cultural assets; to understand the social, cultural and economical context that has fostered the recognition, the protection and the enhancement of tangible and intangible ethno-anthropological cultural assets.
Objectives - ability to apply knowledge and comprehension: to know how to recognize and to record cultural ethno-anthropological assets; to understand and to contextualize the forms and practices of cataloguing ethno-anthropological cultural assets; to acquire the ability to read texts and documents critically.
Objectives - expression of opinions and judgements: to acquire the ability to to make personal pronouncements about the concepts learned; to analyze experiences of capitalization starting from the theoretical, methodological and technical framework learned.
Objectives - Communication skills: to know how to communicate the issues orally or in a written paper by using an appropriate terminology.
Objectives - Ability to study: to know how to discuss the issues by approaching the ethnological literature and the field research.
The course aims to let the student know the main theoretical and methodological concepts of the discipline and, in the most advanced cases, to use the acquired theoretical and methodological knowledge critically. The measurement of these goals will be possible when it is checked what the student has actually learned.

General culture knowledge deriving from high school.

Lectures, ethnographic slides and video recordings. Field trip. Students are invited to register themselves on the DIR website (www.dir.uniupo.it).

The exam is aimed at verifying the achievement of the educational objectives. It consists of a written or oral test chosen by the candidate. In the written test the candidate will have to present his / her knowledge on four topics decided by the teacher. The written test lasts 90 minutes; the oral test lasts about 25 minutes. The mark is given on the basis of 30 possible points. The exam will be considered successful with a minimum score of 18 points. The results of the written test will be notified at each candidate individually on "Esse3 - Computer Services" platform. The candidate may check the results of his/her test during office hours. The mark is assessed according to the following criteria:
- from 18 to 21/30: acceptable knowledge and comprehension of the basic concepts of the books indicated in the bibliography; sufficient critical reasoning skills and ability to make mental association; fair ability to organize and present the acquired knowledge clearly and effectively and to communicate the issues by using an appropriate terminology; fair ability to acquire new skills; - from 22 to 25/30: the same items with a satisfactory performance;
- from 26 to 28/30: the same items with a good performance;
- from 29 to 30/30 (with possible honours): the same items with an excellent performance.

This module will address theoretical, methodological and technical issues related to ethno-anthropological heritage with specific reference to the topics of recognition, recovery and communication. Particular emphasis will be given to the preservation and to the enhancement of that tangible and intangible ethno-anthropological cultural heritage which characterizes postmodern society. Italy, Europe and the Alpine Arch will be the territories of analysis. Issues: Culture and Cultural heritage; The formation of demo-ethno-anthropological assets; The revitalization of folk traditions; How to document tangible and intangible assets; The festive heritage; Local ethnographic museums; The cataloguing of ethno-anthropological assets; The geo-portal of gastronomic culture; The "Granai della Memoria" project; Cultural Heritage and Territories; Food as culture.

Knowledge and comprehension. To achieve an advanced level, the student must also demonstrate that he / she possesses:
- an organic vision of the topics addressed in class, and the attitude to synthetize and to analyze;
- the ability to elaborate a personal and critical vision of the topics, with excellent language proficiency;
- the ability to explore particular topics autonomously.
These results are consistent with the requirements of the Annual Form (SUA) of the 3-year course (A4.b.2.)..
