The course is divided into two parts. The first of macrocomparison illustrates the general outlines of the common law system, both English and US. The second of microcomparison examines the conteract in different legal systems, with a focus on common law, contract law in the English and U.S. systems.

Knowledge and Ability to Understand: teaching aims to provide learners with an understanding of the institutional and functioning characteristics of the main legal systems of the Western tradition. 2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: teaching is aimed at enabling students to acquire the ability to apply their acquired knowledge in order to compare with foreign law texts . 3. Autonomy of judgment: students will be able to apply acquired knowledge, both conceptually and operationally, so that they can dialogue and compare themselves with jurists from other legal systems 4. Communication skills: teaching is also aimed at the acquisition of the technical language used in an international legal environment. 5. Learning skills: students will learn about the main information and bibliographic sources and understand some features of legal documents written in English.

Lectures in which active participation of students is required.1. Acquisition of knowledge: through the conduct of face-to-face lectures and self-study by students based on the course material provided. In the course of teaching, some experts in the field will be invited to conduct a testimonial to share their professional experience with the class. 2. Acquisition of the ability to apply knowledge: through the performance of individual work under the direction of the lecturer. 3. Acquisition of autonomy of judgment: during the course, students will be stimulated to identify antinomies and differences between different legal systems. . 4. Acquisition of technical language: the meaning of terms commonly used by financial market participants will be explained during the course. 5. Acquisition of learning skills: for each topic, we will start from the description of the problem to be solved to critically analyze the different solutions adopted in different legal systems.
