Course Contents
The course of study provides theoretical and practical tools useful in educational intervention. These tools are necessary to understand the functional aspects of the person, with reference to cognitive, linguistic, relational and social development in their typical and atypical paths.

Learning Outcomes
Basic knowledge of the main theoretical reference models and survey methodologies.
Deepen the understanding of developmental processes in various psychological domains and the factors that can influence them.
Introduce the dynamics that characterize the main social contexts in which evolutionary changes take place, in particular the family environment, that of peers and the school environment.
Encourage critical reflection on the main needs and problems related to child development that may arise in the educational field and on the strategies that can be implemented to deal with them.

1. General information, introduction to the course and definition of the field of interest.
2. The life cycle, prenatal development and motor development. Theoretical perspectives in developmental psychology.
3. Cognitive development. The theories of J. Piaget and L. Vygotsky.
4. The development of language.
5. Emotional and social development. Moral development.
6. Adolescence
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: Knowledge and understanding of the foundations of developmental psychology with particular reference to the main developmental lines and milestones of psychological development. Understanding of the functioning modes of the various psychological functions (cognitive, communicative, social, emotional) involved in the school context and in the field of learning, in the various stages of development.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: Knowing how to apply knowledge of the theoretical and practical principles that guide interventions in educational contexts.
