Basics of tumor epidemiology.
Hints of etiopathogenesis of tumors, mutations, carcinogens, environment.
Staging of neoplastic diseases.
Main primary tumors.
Anti-neoplastic therapies and related side effects.
Cancer pain and the palliative care.
Metastases.
Cancer cachexia.
Cachexia neoplastic support therapy.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of:
1. Most common tumors in relation to organ and systemic neoplastic pathologies, according with the program, including related risk factors
2. Relationship between lifestyle, diet, type of work and cancer
3. Natural history of the most common cancers in relation to organ and systemic neoplastic pathologies, according with the program
4. General principles for diagnosis, stadiation, prognostoc factors and markers
5. General principles for the evaluation of performance status and indication to the specific anticancer treatment
6. Most frequent side effects of antineoplastic treatments
7. General principles of palliative care
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biology and pathology are required in order to allow the correct clinical approach to the subject

Introduction:
epidemiology and etiopathognesis of tumors, mutations, carcinogens, environment.
Oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, cancer markers.
Diagnosis and TMN classification.
Breast neoplasms.
Colorectal neoplasms.
Lung neoplasms.
Oral cavity neoplasms.
Adjuvant therapy, neoadjuvant therapy concepts, treatment of metastatic disease.
Chemotherapy.
Anticancer drugs and their toxicity, mucositis.
Cancer pain.
