Course Contents

The course (44 hours of lessons) deals with the most relevant theoretical and practical issues in banking contracts. The first part is dedicated to the analysis of banking activities, the regulation of banking contracts, and customer protections. The second part, with a more practical approach, is focused on examining the main application issues addressed by case law.

Learning Outcomes

Detailed Syllabus

First part: banking activities; collection of deposits and granting of credit; regulation of banking contracts; consumer credit; investment services and financial instruments. Second part: compound interest; usury; hybrid contracts; banking and insurance; banking and finance.
Expected Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and understanding: the study of the subject expands basic knowledge, with a specific focus on bank financing relationships, enabling students to understand the most relevant legal issues and systematically frame them. Applied knowledge and understanding (i.e., the ability to apply knowledge and understanding): the study of the subject enables students to acquire specialized skills in banking contracts, helping to refine problem-solving abilities. Autonomy of judgment: the study of the subject teaches students to approach the topics covered in the course critically, fostering the development of autonomous constructive abilities regarding legal institutions and strengthening students’ argumentative skills. Communication skills: in terms of communication skills, the study of the subject enables students to present the knowledge they have acquired with confidence and using technical language. Learning skills: the study of the subject enhances students’ learning abilities, enabling them to independently pursue further studies.
