To expose the student to the main topics in Neurosurgery that have important physiotherapy implications.

The student must possess the essential knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry of the Nervous System.

The teaching materials refer to the presentations given during the lessons, and copies of which are given to the students present.

A form with twenty multiple-choice questions. One correct answer out of four.

Head and spinal cord injuries. Degenerative spinal disease and cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Hydrocephalus. Central nervous system tumors and lobar syndromes. Cerebral vascular malformations.

Students must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the basic neurosurgery concepts learned during the course. Students are expected to understand the key elements of neurosurgical patient management, with particular attention to applications in physiotherapy.
