Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide the basic skills necessary for the recognition, management and prevention of the main pathologies involving the oral cavity, with particular attention to the clinical, histopathological, radiological aspects and methods of preventing the transmission of infectious diseases.
It also aims to provide the bases and applications of the main radiological techniques, in general and in the dental field.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the anatomy and histology of the oral cavity and basic knowledge of biology, physiology and microbiology are essential.
Teaching Methods
The lessons of the course will take place in frontal mode, with the help of extensive iconography. Particular attention will be paid to the aspects of differential diagnostics of the various pathologies.
Additional Information
The skills acquired through lectures can be extended by clinical experiences.
Students with physical disabilities, Learning Disabilities or Special Education Needs can request specific services and tools via the Staff Sviluppo e Coordinamento Carriere e Servizi alle Studentesse e agli Studenti, consulting the University webpage: https://www.uniupo.it/en/services/services-students-physical-or-learning-disabilities Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination modalities, concerning academic aspects.
Assessment Methods
At the end of each module of the integrated course, a written or oral exam will be carried out on the topics covered by the individual teachers during the course.
