Learning Outcomes
The module is worth 1 CFU for a total of 10 hours of lectures. It aims to provide students with the basics principle of pharmacokinetic and an overview about the contrast agents for TC, US and MR
Prerequisites
Students are requested to have basic notions of anatomy, biochemistry, chemistry and physiology, and of radiological diagnostic techniques.

Assessment Methods
Oral test during which the student must demonstrate not only that he or she has acquired the basic notions but also knows how to contextualize and connect them to each other.
Detailed Syllabus
• Principles of pharmacokinetic: routes of administrations of drugs; absortion, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs;
• Contrast agents:
1. CA iodinated, ionic and non-ionic
2. CA for US
7. CA for RM
• Adverse effects of CA
Expected Learning Outcomes
The Dublin descriptors will be the terms of assessment: D1 - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: The student will know and understand the basic concepts of general pharmacology and the pharmacotoxicological characteristics of substances of abuse and various drug classes. D2 - ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: The student will acquire the ability to use the theoretical knowledge taught in class to reason critically, demonstrating the ability to make connections between different topics and to apply the acquired knowledge in the context of clinical analyses of various drugs or toxic substances. D3 - JUDGMENT ABILITY: The student will acquire the ability to critically examine the theoretical concepts acquired and to be able to independently argue the problems arising from their practical application. D4-COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS: Students will acquire the ability to communicate their acquired knowledge using specific and appropriate vocabulary in order to engage in professional and competent discussions in both academic and professional settings. D5-LEARNING SKILLS: Students are expected to be able to broadly identify the kinetics of a drug based on its physical and chemical characteristics. Furthermore, students are expected to be familiar with commonly used contrast media.
