The course aims to provide the basics to know the main medical diseases pertaining to Internal Medicine, providing elements of epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical, evolution and possible disability.

Knowledge of physiology and bases of general pathology.

Internal Medicine, presentation of the course, approach to the patient, signs of semiotics, diagnostic tests
Atherosclerosis: definitions, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinic, hints of intervention
Diabetes mellitus: definitions, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinic, hints of intervention. Management of hypoglycemia.
Obesity: definitions, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinic, hints of intervention.
Measurement of arterial pressure: technique. Arterial hypertension: definitions, epidemiology, physiopathology, clinic, hints of intervention.
Hypotension. definition and clinical contexts
COPD: definitions, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinic, the means of administering oxygen, hints of intervention, the role of respiratory rehabilitation.
HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS): definitions, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinic, hints of intervention, brief checklist of individual protection for health workers.
