Course Contents
Basic elements of physics and biomechanics related to human body movement. Overview of the biomechanical characteristics of the various tissues composing the locomotor system, with particular attention to rehabilitative aspects.

Learning Outcomes
The module aims to encounter and learn the basic elements of physics and biomechanics in relation to the ability to understand and analyze human body movement, integrating the knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system with the knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the osteo-musculo-articular system.
Prerequisites
The student must have the essential basic knowledge of physics, anatomy, and biomechanics.

Written exam with multiple-choice questions.
The student must demonstrate that they have assimilated the basic concepts of the course learned during the lessons and are able to analyse the fundamental aspects of human movement in order to effectively address subsequent courses.
Detailed Syllabus
Basic elements of physics related to human body movement. General definitions. Kinematics of the point mass. Kinetics of the point mass. Mechanics of the extended body. Machines (levers, pulleys). Deformations. The human body as a machine.
Elements of physiology related to human body movement.
Physiology of the nervous system (analysis of motor control). Physiology of the osteo-musculo-articular system (muscle contraction, analysis of physiological characteristics). Basic elements of therapeutic exercise. General concepts of exercise. Muscle contraction. Basic criteria of therapeutic exercise. Effects of therapeutic exercise.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Learning the basic elements of physics and biomechanics with particular attention to rehabilitative aspects.
