Learning Outcomes
The course main target is to build and increase the awareness of organizational features, in developing welfare services and in operating as a social worker.
Main topics:
- organizations: structure, roles, rules, ways of communicating, mission, environment, people
- the specific case of welfare organizations: typical problems and resources
- different ways of offering social services to citizens, according to different social policies, with particular attention to welfare mix services
- planning and evaluating into welfare organizations: models, methods, problems,
- planning with stakehoders: problems and opportunities, methods of active participation
Prerequisites
It is a first approach to one of the professional topics, requested also for the final state exam

Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons, with analysis of documents, position papers, social projects of local social services and welfare organizations
Additional Information
insertions of significant experiences of the welfare organizations of the territory will be possible.
The second year training report will contain elements of analysis of the organization
Assessment Methods
Oral examination; students have to answer two questions – in a general list previously provided – one about organizational topic, and one about social projects topic – and answer the questions in a professional way and language. He o she will be asked to describe how to organize services and social planning and to analyse the main features. If he has already been trained, theoretical references will be the basis for analysing his/her training experience.

Expected Learning Outcomes
- the students must express themselves in a technical language, with specific definition
- the students have to recognize main methods of organizing welfare services, particularly referred to their stages, when possible
