The internship training activity provides for the acquisition of the basic theoretical-practical skills of the discipline in accordance with the topics reported in the course programme.

Provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to acquire diagnostic skills and carry out the basic clinical activities of the discipline.

Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the head and neck area.

Presentation and collegial discussion of clinical cases on the main pathologies of general ENT interest.
Exercises on the main diagnostic and basic clinical procedures of the discipline.
Participation in outpatient and inpatient visits.
Participation as observers in some operating sessions.

The activities and exercises take place at the hospital and the hospitalization ward/operating rooms of the Otolaryngology SCDU of the AOU of Novara

Individual and collective discussion with tutors.

- basic audiological and vestibular diagnostics, differential diagnostics of vertiginous syndromes
- otoscopic diagnostics
- endoscopic diagnostics of the nose and upper aero-digestive tract (VADS)
- general ENT visit
- inspection and palpation of the cervico-parotid regions
- management of the tracheostoma
- main therapeutic and surgical procedures of the discipline also in the field of oncology
- notions of medical therapy in the ENT field
- discussion of clinical cases also in the multidisciplinary oncological field.
