Acquisition of the basics and an adequate
knowledge of the most frequent diseases of General
Surgery ,Thoracic Surgery, Vascular surgery,
Cardiac Surgery and Urology. Understanding the
etiopathogenetic and pathophysiological
mechanisms of these pathologies by describing the
diagnostic and therapeutic pathways on the basis of
a reasoned and critical elaboration of clinical,
functional, laboratory and diagnostic findings by
image, Verification of their social and health impact
both for their incidence and both for the
repercussions on the quality of life of patients

Students must have passed the Surgical Pathology exam and have
acquired basic knowledge of Histology, Anatomy, Biochemistry,
Physiology and Radiology.

The courses are associated with clinical training in
the relevant departments

Learning is assessed by oral examination for
General Surgery and Urology and written for
Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Cardiac
Surgery.Each candidate will be asked several questions that
may relate to all the topics included in the
educational program with a prevalent focus on the
topics covered in the lectures.

Each of the 3 Teachers of the Integrated Course will
ask questions relating to their teaching and propose
a grade out of thirty which will result in the overall
grade out of thirty, expression of a weighted
average with a final evaluation shared by the
teachers of the individual modules.The exam is passed when the final grade is 18 or
higher.
The assignment of the highest marks with honors
(30 with honors) is envisaged

function tests, urinalysis, urination, spermiocoltura,
urethral swab, urinary cytology, tumor markers,

urodynamics, radiological examinations, endoscopic
examinations).

The expected learning outcomes are consistent with
the general provisions found within the European
Qualifications Framework (Dublin descriptors) as
follows:
Evaluate the physiological principles that govern the
function of the main body systems and the
alterations induced by functional and structural
anomalies.
Describe the main signs and symptoms associated
with specific clinical disorders and provide an
adequate explanation of the underlying reasons.
Know the diseases of surgical interest affecting the
different systems.
Know the necessary clinical and surgical
methodology to deal with the main pathologies of

surgical interest.
The student is also required to be able to put correct
therapeutic indications, to be generically oriented on
the most common surgical techniques, on surgical
"timing" and on prognosis, taking into account the
psychophysical and social characteristics of the
patient. Adequate knowledge of the problems
relating to the pre- and post-operative periods is
also required, related to both small, medium and
high surgery interventions. Acquire an adequate
knowledge of the most frequent diseases of the
digestive, urological and thoracic, vascular and
cardiac surgical systems, their socio-health impact
both for their incidence and for the repercussions on
the quality of life of patients. pathophysiological
