Public law: an introduction.
Laws, the sources of law and relative hierarchy.
From Statuto Albertino to the 1948 Constitution.
Characteristics of the Republican Constitution.
Principles and fundamental rights.
Rule of law.
Rights and duties of citizens.
The Parliament, the Government and the President of the Republic.
Parliament’s legislative function.
Referendums.
The judiciary.
The Court of Auditors.
The Constitutional Court.
Local autonomy: the Regions.
Public administration and administrative justice.
Learning Outcomes
The course aims at enabling the understanding and learning of the principles and fundamental elements of public law.

No prior knowledge required
Teaching Methods
Slides will be employed to allow students to focus on the main course topics.
Assessment Methods
A written exam composed of multiple-choice questions will test the acquired knowledge on the topics included within the syllabus.
Students will be required to demonstrate their knowledge of public law fundamentals.
