1) Principles of General and Regional Anesthesia
2) Principles of pain therapy

Learning Outcomes
The course aims to present the main aspects relating to locoregional
and general anesthesia and to propose the most relevant aspects of
clinical pain management
Prerequisites
Knowledge of pharmacology and internal medicine.
Teaching Methods
MS Power-Point presentations, didactic videos, presentation of clinical
cases.
Assessment Methods
Final exam with multiple choice quiz.
Detailed Syllabus
1) Fundamental Concepts of Anesthesia, Nurse's Role in Assisting During Anesthesia, Utilized Medications, and Patient Monitoring in General Anesthesia, Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia, Peripheral Nerve Blocks
2) Physiology and Perception of Pain, Types of Pain, Pharmacological and Multimodal Approach (Epidural Catheter, Perineural Catheter, Analgesic Blocks)
Expected Learning Outcomes
Students will understand basic principle of general and local anesthesia, including up-to-date techniques. We also expect students to develop
basic knowledge on recognize acute and chronic pain, and understand different treatment options.
