Course Contents
Introduction to "diagnostic imaging", The role of general practitioner and radiologist. Principles of radiation physics, fundamental concepts of radiologic imaging and advances techniques. use of ultrasound imaging (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), radionuclide imaging including position emission tomography (PET) ed interventional radiology. Fundamental to radiation protection. Principles of radiobiology and cancer radiation therapy.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is the acquisition of skills and expertise in the speciality fields of diagnostic imaging and radiation protection. The course will provide students with the knowledge necessary for the activity concerning the correct comunication with the figures who are involved in various medical fields such as general practitioner eand radiologist.

Teaching Methods
Frontal teaching with powerpoint -material available to students; video projection and interactive lessons.
Assessment Methods
written tests with multiple choice modality on the topics included in the course.
Minimum "pass" requirements: the level of sufficiency will be reached, wthen the student has demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the subject of study as well as minimum application competence.
Detailed Syllabus
Introduction to the course; x ray, radiological techniques, contrast agents, computed tomography TC, magnetic resonance imaging MRI, ultrasound US, radioisotope diagnostic imaging, diagnostic images of the body (RX, TC, MRI) related to the most common pathologies, elements of radiation protection, principles of radiobiology and cancer radiation therapy
