Course Contents
The course aims to provide the basic knowledge of the geography of tourism related to: theoretical-conceptual and methodological features; tourist types and products; analysis of different types of tourism; data and sources; design and projects.

Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide the conceptual, methodological and cultural foundations necessary to analyze and interpret the complex mosaic in which the various current tourist forms are articulated. In this framework, the course aims at enabling the students to analyze a territorial context according to tourist models and adequate sources. Thus, to implement project ideas capable of developing the territory as a tourist destination.

Teaching Methods
Lectures, cases analysis and excercises, sycrone and asynchronous activities in order to develop project ideas in workshop mode (individual projects).

Assessment Methods
The students are provided with two options: presentation of a final project related to the contents of the course or written/oral test on the contents of the texts mentioned above.
In the first case, they have to create a ppt presentation to be discussed both with teachers and class.
In the second case, there's a written text (6 questions, 3 for each part).
Detailed Syllabus
The course is structured as follows:
The origins of the geography of tourism (introduction, defining and analytical aspects)
Products, experiences, destinations (typologies, recent changes)
Sources and statistical data (trends and forecasts, national statistical system, tourists and flow types)
EU programming and planning for tourism (sustainability and SDGs, EU policies, NRRP, types of programmes and examples of projects, funding)
Workshop activities related to the NRRP NODES Project (Spoke 3 Culture and Tourism Industry).
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: knowledge of basic theoretical and methodological concepts of the geography of tourism. Ability to understand and contextualize the relationship between geographical dimension and tourism. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: ability to identify and develop the territorial components for project of creation/enhancement of tourism products/destinations. Autonomy of evaluation: ability to analyse tourist data and contexts. Communication skills: ability to communicate and present a tourism project. Learning / studying skills: ability to find and access to additional bibliographic and data sources. Ability to combine theoretical and methodological concepts with the direct observation of tourist and territorial data.
