- knowledge and understanding: to provide the tools and methodologies for the recognize and understand the territorial dimension of migration processes

to understand the role of the spatial dimension in the development population processes
- making judgements: to evaluate the anthropic dynamics linked to territorial differences

- learning skills: to develop an appreciation and understanding of population and migration geography.
The course aims to enable the student to analyse the main characteristics and dynamics of the population and the migration, in the most advanced cases, to produce new solutions and use the theoretical knowledge acquired appropriately. During the examination, it will be possible to measure these objectives.

Basic knowledge of human and economic geography

Lectures (in class lessons and itinerant in Vercelli region), slides, powerpoint presentations, materials and link on case studies and discussions in class and in the DIR platform.

This course gives 6 credits in the M - GGR / 01 sector. These credits are essential for access to teaching in secondary school.

Oral test consisting of questions to evaluate the capacity of to identify and understand the role of demographic and migration processes in shaping the organization of the territory.
The skills in expressing judges and comments are tested through the answers to the questions. Students are requested to comment and compare different phenomena.
The skills in studying in a proper way are tested through the answers to the given questions.
Students should show their competence in linking different issues together and demonstrate that they have read and studied the lecture notes (student attending lessons) or the suggested bibliography (student not attend student not attending lessons).

This course aims to provide advanced tools to understand the contemporary world geography and the main territorial differences liked to demographic and migration processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: - Knowledge of current issues in geographical migration and demographic processes; Knowledge of the human geography; - Critical understanding of the topics studied.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING - Ability to understand the connections between texts and geographical contexts, using the critical and methodological tools appropriate to the analysis; - Ability to use the appropriate lexicon to communicate - clearly and effectively - knowledge, information and opinions related to the topics dealt with.
