Private Roman Law.

For attending students: Matteo Marrone, Manuale di diritto privato romano, publing house Giappichelli, in all its parts, without exception, plus the lecture notes.
For non-attending students: Matteo Marrone, Manuale di diritto privato romano, publing house Giappichelli, in all its parts, without exception, plus Gisella Bassanelli Sommariva, Introduzione agli studi giuridici, publing house Maggioli, 1-182.

Educational aims: the course is intended to provide students with the basic knowledge of Roman Private Law, enabling them to link the institutes of Roman Private Law with the corresponding ones of Italian Private Law.

Prerequisites are not required.

Frontal lectures.

Attendance in class is not compulsory, but is recommended.

Oral examination, with five or six questions about all the subjects of the content.

The course will focus on the study of the following subjects: 1) the sources of Roman Law; 2) the private trial; 3) the legal transactions; 4) the persons and the family; 5) the rights in rem and possession; 6) the obligations; the donations and the successions.

Basic knowledge of the Roman Private Law; suitable juridical terminology; historical contextualization of the institutes of Roman Private Law.
