The course aims to provide students with: 1) the basic contents relating to the onset and evolution of the National Health Service; the current regional organization of the NHS; the financing of health spending; 2) an overview of the main types of healthcare systems most widespread in Western countries; 3) useful tools for analyzing a healthcare system in terms of allocative efficiency and equity of access.
