Course Contents
The course generally addresses the issues of control and management of corporate risks and in particular the strategies for managing financial risks. The discussion is divided into a theoretical part and an initial methodology part which is followed by various real case studies taken as examples.
The first part of the course deals with the various types of corporate risk, the risk management methods, the relevant legislation, the ERM systems, the PDCA and FMEA methodologies and the KRIs. The financial risks and their management strategies are then explored in depth: interest rate risk, exchange rate risk, credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk.
In the second part of the course, financial risks in different company situations are analyzed with the presentation of real cases and the assignment of exercises to students in the classroom along the lines of the real case studies exposed. The case studies concern different types of companies operating in the financial field, hotel, sports and energy efficiency sectors.
The course ends with a reference to continuous corporate improvement systems through active risk control and application of Kaizen and Ishikawa models.
