The objectives of the Integrated Psychiatry Course require the student to acquire concepts on:
• the main aspects of the "therapeutic relationship" in the diagnosis and treatment pathways;
• conducting a psychiatric interview within the doctor-patient relationship;
• specific symptoms of psychiatric diagnostic categories and the relationship between symptoms and disorders and recognition and classification of the main psychopathological pictures found in the setting of general medicine and hospital;
• general information on the biopsychosocial therapeutic project in psychiatry: pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and psychorehabilitation.
• models of connection and integration between medical and psychiatric services, orienting themselves in the modality of requesting psychiatric consultancy and joint work in psychiatry and liaison medicine

The exam will focus on the topics in the program and will be carried out through a written test lasting two hours, divided as follows: 1) clinical case (7.5 points) 2) set of 20 multiple choice questions (7.5 points; 0.375 points for each answer correct) 3) two open questions (15 points in total).
Learning is assessed on the basis of the correctness of the contents of the answers provided by the student, the logical presentation of the contents, the property of language. The questions may concern all the topics included in the didactic program with prevalent attention to the topics dealt with during the lectures. Verification of learning through the exam will propose a mark out of thirty. The exam is passed if the final grade is 18/30 or higher. Top marks with honors (30/30 with honors) will be assigned.

Psychiatric disorders will be discussed also in the perspective of gender medicine.

The expected learning outcomes are consistent with the general provisions found within the European Qualifications Framework (Dublin descriptors) relating to knowledge and understanding.
At the end of the course students should be able to demonstrate that, thanks to the content of the lessons and the study of the recommended bibliography, they have gained knowledge and understanding relating to the main psychiatric clinical pictures covered by the course, their diagnosis, psychodiagnostic tools available, to the treatment of disorders and the care of patients affected by them, including crisis management; they should also have acquired knowledge and understanding of the historical, organizational and institutional aspects of Italian psychiatry. Through learning the aforementioned knowledge, the student will be able to develop the ability to recognize the main psychiatric pathologies examined in non-specialist contexts, and to know how to direct patients to the most appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic path, with a good degree of autonomy.
