Learning Outcomes
To acquire knowledges on the immune system function at the level of innate and adaptive immunity in order to understand also the mechanisms of immune evasion, vaccination, and the etiology and pathogenesis of allergic and autoimmune diseases. Students will acquire autonomous judgement, ability to communicate using adequate terminology, and capacity of continuous updating
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic cell biology and immunology
Teaching Methods
Frontal teaching with slides. The slides are available, including slides with vocal comment. Interactivity is promoted by discussion of scientific articles and optional attendance at the Immunology laboratory
Additional Information
Students with physical disabilities, Learning Disabilities or Special Education Needs can request
specific services and tools via the Staff Sviluppo e Coordinamento Carriere e Servizi alle Studentesse

e agli Studenti, consulting the University webpage: https://www.uniupo.it/en/services/services-
students-physical-or-learning-disabilities

Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted
the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination
modalities, concerning academic aspects.
Assessment Methods
Oral examination assessing knowledge of the main principles and technical terminology of immunology
