The course will provide students with elements of legal medicine (criminal law, civil law) useful for practicing the profession

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
• deal with the medical-legal problems,
• know laws and regulations of practical application;
• know the fundamentals of professional responsibility;
• recognize and be able to describe injuries of medical-legal interest,
• recognize negative and positive cadaveric phenomena.

• Elements of penal forensic medicine - Crimes against the person of
interest.
Report and Complaint to the Judicial Authority
• Elements of civil legal medicine
• Elements of professional responsibility
• Elements of traumatology and forensic pathology.
• Elements of thanatology.
• Elements of forensic medicine in INAIL and INPS
Expected Learning Outcomes
In order to achieve the knowledge and skills corresponding to the minimum level of sufficiency, the student is asked to demonstrate that:
(KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS):
- know and be able to apply the fundamental principles of forensic medicine, with particular attention to what is fundamental in the healthcare professional / patient relationship (informed consent, patient self-determination, TSO, professional and official secrecy);
- know the crimes of interest to the health professional in order to be able to draw up the report for the Judicial Authority;
- know and be able to apply the methods for describing the lesions;
- know and be able to apply the principles of professional responsibility;
- know the medico-legal problems relating to Unaccompanied Foreign Minors;
- know and be able to apply the fundamental elements for the management of victims of gender-based violence.

(TRANSVERSAL SKILLS)
- be able to describe, in written and oral form, the injuries;
- be able to compile a complaint or report for the judicial authority
- know how to manage victims of gender-based violence and unaccompanied foreign minors from a health point of view;
- know the rights and duties of the health profession
