- define the concepts of health and health education; - identify the key stages in designing educational interventions; - identify the strategies and techniques to be adopted in individual and community health education; - select and use relevant and effective written communication techniques; - describe the uses, advantages/disadvantages of materials that healthcare professionals can use and produce for a health education intervention; - plan and implement an informational intervention on health topics.
Prerequisites
The student must have general knowledge of health and preventive medicine.

Assessment Methods
The exam consists of a written test with 15 multiple-choice questions on the program topics. Students must demonstrate their understanding of the basic health education concepts learned during lectures and practical exercises, enabling them to develop health education projects in the dental hygiene sector.

_ Health Concepts: How the definition of health has changed and what results it has produced in society, and how to measure it - Health education: key principles, guidelines, applications, and best practices - Hand hygiene: why it should be practiced, scientific evidence, and practical procedures - Treatment of medical devices - Oral hygiene as a health education tool
Expected Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to identify the main characteristics and concepts of health education. They will be able to analyze health education interventions and apply them in their current work settings.
