The teaching aims to provide to each male and female student with a knowledge about
morphology, topography and function of several organs of human body.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to offer to provide to each male and female student with a knowledge
useful to understand the individual, aggregate, and relationship aspects
of the human body, which are the basis of human biology and of the
pathological manifestations
Prerequisites
All students, both men and women, are advised to take the knowledge provided by the course: General Biology and Fundamentals of Histology, Embryology and Functional Anatomy
Teaching Methods
Teaching delivered as oral presentation, with Power Point projections auxilium, and discussion in the classroom.
The power point projections will be made available to all male and female students on the
relative DIR pages

The control of learning, will be carried out, according with all male and female students, with
exercises and partial tests, individually performed.
Assessment Methods
The exam includes two written tests: a first quiz test and a subsequent thematic test.
The quiz test will be submitted to each male and female student
enrolled in the exam list to evaluate the acquisition of basic knowledge of the various topics of the course.
The quiz exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions - 5 options of
which only one exact.
The questions will be developed to test students' knowledge
on the different themes that make up the program of the course and will come
structured in 4 sectors:
8 questions: musculoskeletal musculoskeletal system
8 questions: cardiovascular system (3 for the heart, 3 for the arteries,
2 for the veins or lymphatic system)
20 questions: organs of the visceral systems
4 questions: Nervous System
The absence of answers or exact answers affecting an entire sector
of questions will result in an additional negative evaluation of -1.
The successful of the quiz test will be obtained with correct answers = or > 24 (conversion factor =0,75 for the vote). The success in the quiz test will give
access to the second written test,
which aims to analyse the level of cultural maturity
achieved, the ability to master the knowledge acquired,
analyzing the student's ability to relate different
topics of the teaching course and analysing student's ability to focus the presentation of a structure of human body with clarity and cultural exhaustiveness.
The second written test will be structured as a thematic composition. They will come
presented 4 topics on which to make a written dissertation
The topics presented will randomly focus on the topics of the sector:
- Locomotor system
- Organs of the visceral system
- Nervous system
The individual themes will be evaluated -1.25; -1; -0,75; -0.5; -0.25 0; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75; 1; 1.25; in consideration of the completeness and correctness of the thematic development. The evaluation result of the individual topics will contribute in sum to the mark of the written, to constitute the final mark.
The total absence of an answer (single topic left blank) will result in an even negative evaluation
to -3.
The possible approximations resulting in the
final grade, will be evaluated in relation to the overall performance
of the single test. Overestimations are possible for rewarding outcomes.
Detailed Syllabus
General overview. Appendicular and axil skeleton. structure and
functional significance of the joints; the structure of the bone elements;
functional and clinical anatomy of the temporo-mandibular joint.
Descriptive and functional anatomy of muscle systems.
- CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
The pulmonary and systemic circulation. The heart: anatomy and
topography; heart valves veins and arteries, topographical anatomy of
arterial and venous vascular territories. Organization of the lymphatic
system, lymph and lymph nodes.
- RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Descriptive and functional anatomy of the upper and lower airways
(Nasal Cavity, Larynx, Trachea and Bronchi, Lungs, Pleura).
- DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Descriptive and functional anatomy of the Oral Cavity and Salivary
glands, Pharynx, Oesophagus, Stomach, Intestine, Liver, Pancreas,
Spleen.
- URINARY SYSTEM
Descriptive and functional anatomy of the Kidneys, Renal pelvis, Ureter,
Urinary bladder, male and female urethra.
- GENITAL SYSTEM
Male - Descriptive and functional anatomy of the Testis, Prostate and
Penis.
Female - Descriptive and functional anatomy of the Ovary, Uterus,
Vagina.
- ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
Descriptive and functional anatomy of the Hypophysis, Thyroid,
Parathyroid, Pancreatic islet, Adrenal glands, Gonads.
- NERVOUS SYSTEM
Central Nervous System – Descriptive and functional anatomy of the
Spinal cord, Brainstem, Cerebellum, Diencephalon, Telencephalon:
cortical functional areas, gray and white matters of the Telencephalon.
Main communicative sensory & motor bundles.
Peripheral Nervous System -
Cranial and spinal nerves.
Functional relationships of the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers).

Gender differences in locomotor anatomy and its consequences
Notes on socio-behavioural gender differences and relationships with the functionality of brain areas.

Expected Learning Outcomes
Each male and female student is expected to acquire complete knowledge on the
topographic relationships of the organs and structures of the human body, and deepen knowledge of the macroscopic and microscopic morphology of the different organs, also accompanied by knowledge of the functional aspects of the organs in their functions as single structure
It is expected that each female and male student has gained the ability to manage his
knowledge in an applicative way to identify design issues, the ability to find information, identify and deepen the thematic aspects related to the morphological sciences in the fields of human anatomy.
Each male and female student must be able to express autonomy of judgment and the ability to analyze the functional and dysfunctional interactions of the various structures of the human anatomy, useful to develop a critical evaluation of experimental data or problems that fall under his attention.
Each male and female student must have realized the appropriate communication skills in order to be able to present descriptive and problematic aspects related to the structures of human anatomy in a clear and concise manner with appropriate scientific language (both oral and written), also valid for direct presentations at "not insiders"
We expect the ability to use the teaching material for a critical and
reasoned study, evolving towards the acquisition of the ability to deepen and update in an autonomous way, through reading texts and scientific articles, issues related to the structures of human anatomy.
