The course aims to deepen the theme of the landscape, in relation to heritage issues and practices tourism, placed on the frame of sustainability.

In a constant balance between theoretical reflection and case study analysis, the course intends to provide students with some tools for knowledge and intervention in the practices of land management, participation, awareness raising, enhancement of the landscape heritage in a sustainable tourism key.

LANDSCAPE, CULTURAL HERITAGE, TOURISM: cultural tourism, thematic proposals and projects (musical tourism, cinema, etc.)
LANDSCAPE AND PROTECTION: landscape assets, regulatory focus, EU Landscape Convention
PARKS, PROTECTED AREAS AND LANDSCAPE PLANNING: sustainability and tourism in protected areas
LANDSCAPES AND UNESCO SITES: Conventions, Unesco List, Italian heritages

Knowledge and understanding: knowledge of basic theoretical and methodological concepts of tourism planning and project management. Ability to understand and contextualize the relationship between geographical dimension and tourism. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: ability to identify and develop the land components for project of enhancement of tourism. Autonomy of evaluation: ability to analyze territorial contexts and set up projects. Communication skills: ability to present a sustainable tourism project. Learning / studying skills: ability to find and access to additional bibliographic and data sources. Ability to combine theoretical and methodological concepts with the direct observation of tourist and territorial data.
