Course Contents
The course aims to deepen the theme of the landscape, in relation to heritage issues and practices tourism, placed on the frame of sustainability.

Learning Outcomes
In a constant balance between theoretical reflection and case study analysis, the course intends to provide students with some tools for knowledge and intervention in the practices of land management, participation, awareness raising, and enhancement of the landscape heritage in a sustainable tourism key.

LANDSCAPE: geographical introduction LANDSCAPE TERRITORY ENVIRONMENT: concepts, areas, differences LANDSCAPE: definition and types ANTHROPIZED LANDSCAPES AND TOURISM: anthropic development, humanized landscapes, tourism and tourism URBAN LANDSCAPE: definition, typologies, functional characteristics, examples of sustainable (and not) urban tourism PAESAGGIO DEI GIARDINI: enhanced landscapes, tourism projects AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE AND TOURISM: agrarian and rural dimension, components and types, rural tourism and food and wine LANDSCAPE, CULTURAL HERITAGE, TOURISM: cultural tourism, thematic proposals and projects (musical tourism, cinema, etc.) LANDSCAPE AND PROTECTION: landscape assets, regulatory focus, EU Landscape Convention LANDSCAPES AND UNESCO SITES: Conventions, Unesco List, Italian heritages SYMBOLIC LANDSCAPE: audiovisual representations of places
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: knowledge of basic theoretical and methodological concepts of tourism planning and project management. Ability to understand and contextualize the relationship between geographical dimension and tourism. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: ability to identify and develop the land components for the project of enhancement of tourism. Autonomy of evaluation: ability to analyze territorial contexts and set up projects. Communication skills: ability to present a sustainable tourism project. Learning/studying skills: ability to find and access additional bibliographic and data sources. Ability to combine theoretical and methodological concepts with the direct observation of tourist and territorial data.
