Course Contents
Overview of the main diagnostic tools supporting neurological practice, with particular emphasis on neurophysiological techniques, including their diagnostic indications and interpretation of findings.

Learning Outcomes
The course aims to promote knowledge and understanding and the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the essential elements of clinical neurophysiology (electroencephalography, electromyography, electroneuronography, evoked potentials) The student must demonstrate independent judgment, communication skills and learning ability.
Prerequisites
The student has to possess basic knowledge in the field of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the nervous system.
Teaching Methods
Face-to-face lessons; video.
Students will also be actively involved in the learning process and in the development of critical skills through discussion of clinical reports.

Assessment Methods
Oral exam through which the student must demonstrate knowledge of the topic covered and ability to reason on various topics that can be linked to the initial question.
Detailed Syllabus
Diagnostic tests and instrumental investigations used in neurological practice;
Lumbar puncture;
Electromyography (EMG);
Electroencephalography (EEG);
Visual, auditory, somatosensory, and motor evoked potentials;
Basic anatomical and physiological principles and their pathological alterations.

The main diagnostic and instrumental investigations available to neurologists will be discussed, with particular emphasis on selecting the most appropriate investigation according to the neurological condition under evaluation.
Expected Learning Outcomes
The student will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding (and ability to apply the aforementioned) about the essential aspects of neurophysiological methods and their diagnostic implications.
