Pathophysiology, benign and malignant tumors of the esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux disease, diaphragmatic hernia, gastric ulcer, stomach tumors, Meckel's diverticula, intestinal infarction, tumors of the liver, gallbladder, and biliary tract, retroperitoneal tumors. Abdominal compartment syndrome, pathologies of the spleen, acute abdomen, obesity. - Terminology in Orthopedics and Traumatology. - Malformations and congenital diseases. - Infectious pathology of the bone and joints. Skeletal tumors. Learning Outcomes
Know the main surgical pathologies, the main pathologies affecting the musculoskeletal system, the main pathologies affecting the urinary system and related diagnostic-therapeutic algorithms
Prerequisites
It is necessary to have passed the pathological anatomy exam and have acquired basic knowledge of histology, anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and radiology

Assessment Methods
Learning is assessed through oral exams. Each candidate will be asked several questions that may cover all the topics covered in the curriculum, with a primary focus on the topics covered during lectures. Each of the three instructors of the Integrated Course will ask questions related to their own teaching and propose a grade out of 30, which will result in the overall grade. This grade is expressed as a weighted average, with a final evaluation shared jointly by the instructors of the individual modules, taking into account the level of learning ability, communication and presentation skills, and mastery of appropriate vocabulary. The exam is considered passed when the final grade is 18 or higher. The maximum grade with honors (30 cum laude) is awarded.

Esophagus: Esophageal pathology; functional esophageal pathology (GERD, achalasia, diverticula); esophageal ruptures; benign esophageal tumors, esophageal neoplasms. Gastroesophageal reflux disease. Stomach surgical pathology: hemorrhagic gastritis; ulcers; tumors Digestive bleeding. Acute appendicitis. Gastric ulcer. Hernias: diaphragmatic hernias. Proctology. Colon: diverticular disease of the colon; familial polyposis; colorectal neoplasms. Liver: benign and malignant liver tumors; hepatic echinococcosis. Abdominal compartment syndrome and acute pancreatitis. Gallstones. Splenic pathology requiring surgical interest. Acute abdomen. Surgical pathology of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Bariatric surgery. Small bowel diseases, ischemia, intestinal infarction. Meckel's diverticulum, tumors. Pancreas: benign and malignant tumors. Hints of bone histophysiology and osteogenesis. Congenital malformations and diseases (DCA, PTC, congenital torticollis). Developmental diseases (scoliosis, osteochondrosis, slipped capital femoral epiphysis). Infectious bone and joint diseases. Primary and secondary skeletal tumors. Osteopathies (osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, Paget's disease). Arthropathies (arthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis). Aseptic necrosis of the femoral head. Cervical and lumbar disc herniation. Myotendinous pathology (shoulder, overload tendinopathies, Achilles tendon). Hand Surgery topics (canal syndromes of the upper limb, Dupuytren's, Volkmann's). Biomaterials in orthopedics and traumatology. General principles of skeletal traumatology: general information on fractures (classification, bone healing processes, treatment principles, complications), epiphyseal separations, and the polytrauma patient. Fracture systems: humerus, wrist, pelvis, femur, leg, and vertebrae. Stress fractures. Traumatic joint injuries (shoulder, knee, ankle). Urological semiotics: • physical semiotics (family and physiological history, remote pathological history, recent pathological history, objective examination, signs and symptoms) • laboratory and instrumental semiotics (renal function tests, urinalysis, urine culture, sperm culture, urethral swab, urinary cytology, tumor markers, urodynamics, radiological tests, endoscopic tests) Urinary tract and renal parenchymal infections Prostatitis and epididymo-orchiditis Urogenital tuberculosis Urinary stones Congenital urogenital malformations Hydronephrosis Obstructive anuria. Expected Learning Outcomes
Expected outcomes The expected learning outcomes are consistent with the general provisions found within the European Qualifications Framework (Dublin descriptors), as follows: Evaluate the physiological principles governing the function of major body systems and the alterations induced by functional and structural abnormalities. Describe the main signs and symptoms associated with specific clinical disorders and provide an adequate explanation of the underlying causes. Knowledge of surgical, orthopedic, and urological diseases affecting the various systems. Knowledge of the necessary clinical and surgical methodology to address the main surgical, orthopedic, and urological diseases. Ability to conduct a reasoned clinical examination to formulate a diagnostic hypothesis and prescribe appropriate instrumental tests. Ability to assess the severity, treatment, and prognosis of general, orthopedic, and urological surgery injuries.
