Course Contents
The student will be able to describe: the birth and evolution of diagnostic imaging
organization of the radiological service and operational cycles digital evolution
traditional radiology, CT, MRI, ECO, interventional radiology the nurse and
diagnostic imaging: the role of the nurse in the radiology department; the nurse as
an interface between clinical departments and radiological service, nurses and
ultrasound in intensive care, nurses in interventional radiology radiology and
population: notions of screening

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the Integrated Course, the student will be able to: - know the
indications of which imaging method recognize diagnostic imaging images
Correlate the manifest signs and symptoms to the specific possible imaging
methods - Interpretation of the clinical situation with decision-making in response to
the patient's need for nursing care, referring to the different outcomes of diagnostic
examinations

Admission to the exam: Morphological sciences exceeded and minimum number of
hours required by current regulations

Powerpoint presentation Use of teaching methodology of frontal lessons with the
support of specialists in the field. Use of an interactive UPO platform on the DIR.

Assessment Methods
The test will be a written test consisting of 60 multiple choice questions with only one
exact option, of which 24 are surgical-general in nature and the remaining relative to
the specialties Structuring according to model of clinical cases with questions
corresponding to all the disciplines that make up the teaching • Time available: 90
minutes • Certification assessment: judgment in 30th
Detailed Syllabus
Historical background and evolution of diagnostic imaging Organization of radiological
service and operational cycles (request, reservation, acceptance, execution, reporting,
archiving, invoicing, statistics). Digital evolution Physical bases: genesis and
properties of X-rays, ultrasounds, electromagnetic fields. Unit of measurement of
radiation. Radiation protection elements and standards. Traditional radiology: anatomy
notes and main normal and pathological pictures (chest, abdomen, skeleton), baryta
and organoiodate contrast media: properties and indications in diagnostic radiology,
normal and pathological framework indications in contrastographic radiology (digestive
apparatus, urinary tract, defecography) Computed tomography: principles and
evolution, elements of axial anatomy, contrast media, routes of administration and
acquisition phases, contraindications, preparation of the allergic patient and with renal
hypofunctionality, two-dimensional and three-dimensional reconstructions.
Presentations of axial sections and anatomy lines. Nuclear magnetic resonance:
principles of image formation; indications; relative and absolute contraindications;
contrast media, preparation of the allergic patient and renal hypofunctionality, outline
and advanced applications. Ultrasound: principles of image formation, study ndications,
preparation of the patient for abdominal ecotomographic examination.
Vascular and interventional radiology: digital subtraction, vascular applications.
Expected Learning Outcomes
The student at the end of the integrated course will be able to know, identify and
correlate the imaging methods with signs and symptoms of pathology or problem
susceptible to surgical evaluation
