Course Contents
Identifying the healthcare needs of people affected by diseases of general surgical relevance. Specifically, determining care needs for pathologies of surgical interest of the gastro-intestinal apparatus (oesophagus, stomach, upper and lower intestinal tract, liver, biliary tract, pancreas), hernia, laparocele, lympho-glandular apparatus (breast, pancreas), bariatric surgery, respiratory pathology (upper and lower airways), and vascular procedures (elective as well as emergency surgery).

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the Integrated Course, the student will be able to: - Identify and describe the signs and symptoms referable to pathology of general surgical relevance and to identify the principal exams on biological samples - Correlate signs and symptoms to specific pathologies, developing skills aimed at identifying real and potential complications - Interpretation of the clinical situation with decision making in response to the patient's need for nursing assistance, referred to the different clinical presentations.
Prerequisites
To access the exam: Sufficiency in morphological sciences and physiological sciences, minimum number of hours required by current regulations
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons with possible support of specialists. Power-points, videos, clinical cases.

• Exam: written test consisting of 60 multiple choice questions with only one exact option (24 of general surgery and the remaining relating to specialties) Structuring according to the model of clinical cases • Time available: 90 minutes • Certification evaluation: judgment in 30/30 (max) Sufficiency 18/30 (60%)

Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of the integrated course, the student will be able to know, identify and correlate signs and symptoms of pathology or problems susceptible to surgical evaluation.
