Introduction to the knowledge of Playback
Theatre. What Playback Theatre is: it is an
original form of improvisational and reflective
theatre, in which the audience or group
members spontaneously tell “stories” from
their lives and see them immediately
performed on stage by the performers. PBT is
used in a wide range of contexts and fields.
Active methods in group facilitation. Notes on
socio- and psychodramatic techniques.
Historical notes on the origins of Playback
Theatre. Characteristics of PBT: spontaneity,
creativity, artistic dignity, social interaction.
Setting/the ritual.
The 5 structural elements of PBT: narrator,
conductor, actor/performer, spectator/witness,
music.

Provide students with fundamental knowledge
regarding the rehabilitative specificities of
children and adolescents with reference to
international guidelines; as well as in
addictions and mental health. Specific
rehabilitative techniques and knowledge of the
foundations to develop preventive and
rehabilitative interventions.
Teach through experience the main principles
and the main expressive forms of Playback
Theatre. Offer a tool of work applicable to
different and multiple group contexts, based
on spontaneity, creativity, relation, listening,
sharing and return, using the body, voice,
movement as communicative and artistic
tools.

Educational observation, context analysis,
needs analysis. Curiosity, willingness to listen
to yourself and others, to get involved, use
your own body, voice, movement, as
comunicative and artistic tools.

Each lesson includes a theoretical part and a
practical part. Female students and male
students will be invited to discuss clinical

Playback Theatre is an original form of theatre
