1. Knowledge and understanding
Students must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

The professional profile, code of ethics, core curriculum and core competences of physiotherapists in Italy and in an international context.

The relevant legislation, the professional registration system, and the training framework and CME (Continuing Medical Education).

The conceptual transition from the classical biomedical model to the biopsychosocial model (ICF).

The fundamental principles of scientific research, research methodology and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).

The ergonomic and regulatory principles relating to Manual Handling of Loads (MMC).

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding (Applying knowledge and understanding)
The student must be able to:

Use clinical reasoning and diagnostic methodology in physiotherapy to correctly assess rehabilitation needs.

Formulate clinical questions according to the PICO model to search for evidence of efficacy in the scientific literature.

Apply the guidelines and provisions of the Gelli-Bianco Law in practice focused on patient safety.

Apply ergonomic techniques and principles for the safe manual handling of loads and patients.

Students must develop the ability to:

Critically evaluate scientific sources and distinguish evidence-based practices from those lacking a methodological basis.

Reflect on the ethical and deontological implications of daily professional practice and on the relationship with the service user.

Recognise their own limits of competence and professional responsibilities within the multidisciplinary team.

Students must demonstrate that they are able to:

Use appropriate technical and scientific terminology specific to the field of rehabilitation.

Clearly communicate the guiding principles of the profession and the regulatory framework to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Understand the role of empathetic communication in the therapeutic alliance within the biopsychosocial model.

5. Learning skills
The student must be able to:

Independently manage their own continuous professional development programme through the CPD system.
