The contents of this course are aimed at completing the students' education. In this C.I. knowledge is provided on oral manifestations of systemic and dermatological diseases, on precancerous lesions and on oral cancer; knowledge is provided on epidemiology / etiopathogenesis / staging / therapy of tumors in order to obtain a holistic and non-dento-centric view of the patient.
The IC aims to obtain a global judgment capacity in the planning of periodontal treatment, not only relative to the stage of the dento-periodontal disease but to the type and clinical situation of the patient.

The epidemiology of tumors and the repercussions on the quality of life of patients requires knowledge of the most frequent neoplastic pathologies of the organ and system, the existing relationships with lifestyle, diet, type of work, general principles of diagnosis and staging, side effects in order to make the student ready to instruct, motivate and apply the methods suitable for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of caries and periodontal disease. The student at the end of the IC must be able to plan the activity in any type of patient
Prerequisites
The student must be in possession of the essential notions of biological, pathological, specific technical nature learned in the previous years of the course of study.
