Students of Business or Economics often need to write essays and reports for exams and coursework, and this course has been conceived to help them succeed with these tasks. This course explains the academic writing process from start to finish, and practises all the key writing skills in the context of Business Studies.

English language at B1+ level.

The course consists of in-person learning during classes, group work and self-study.

The course does not include a final exam. Students’ preparation is assessed throughout the lessons.

The course is divided into five modules, each focusing on different aspects of academic language and the principles of gender-inclusive language.

1) Knowledge and understanding. The course aims to develop linguistic competencies in various areas, including lexis and morpho-syntax. It is expected that after the course students will be able to handle advanced level complexity texts and other material in the field of academic writing with relative ease.
2) Learning skills. Students will be guided through the exploration of learning strategies in order to successfully apply the ones corresponding to their needs and abilities.
3) Students are expected to be able to handle difficulties with vocabulary and grammar in the academic context, develop their critical thinking skills and logic, especially with regard to reading and writing and demonstrate good referencing skills in the academic context.
