The most common psychiatric disorders a social worker may have to deal with (mood disorders, schizophrenia, substance related disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, dementia) will be described, in order to provide a knowledge that may be well integrated with what the students already know. Preventivo, treatment and rehabilitation will focus on the social worker's role in each phase. Mental health services' organization will include both a general description and a specific reference to more recent development.

Oral exam

The most common psychiatric disorder will be presented using an interactive and dialectic method. All the subjects will be presented again using an historical perspective in order to explain changes and development in psychiatry. Here is the list of arguments:

Ability to understand the core elements of mental illness using this knowledge to develop efficient care pathways
