Course Contents
The social legislation module will propose a framework of the reference regulatory context for social services and policies in Italy, focusing on the management and administrative organization of the planning and implementation of interventions. The course will examine the path that led to the development of an integrated system of interventions and social services in Italy, analyzing its limits in its implementation and future prospects. Particular attention will be paid to the social-health integration process, proposing a comparative perspective from an interregional perspective.

The teacher will provide original study material (slides and handouts) in class, sharing them on the digital platform available to students.
Further in-depth material can be consulted upon request, in agreement with the teacher.
Learning Outcomes
The student must demonstrate that he/she has acquired an adequate degree of understanding of the regulatory framework of reference, of its evolution, and that he/she has mastered the conceptual tools and the relative professional and scientific terminology. The student will have to know the planning and implementation process of interventions and social services, the social-health integration and to analyze the limits and potential of these processes in a comparative perspective.

Teaching Methods
Lessons will be held mainly in frontal mode, but interaction and discussion on specific topics will be encouraged. Furthermore, thematic insights will be proposed.

The content of the social legislation course will include eight lessons that will cover the following topics:
The concept of social legislation and legal sources
Social legislation and the Italian Constitution
The evolution of social legislation in Italy
The system of interventions, services and social policies: 328/2000, the principle of subsidiarity and the role of the third sector
The planning of social services: planning plans, policies for the family, policies for disability, policies for poverty, integration and reception policies
Active policy measures and income support interventions
Social insurance
Social-health integration and socio-health interventions
Expected Learning Outcomes
The students must be able to orient themselves in the regulatory framework that regulates social services in Italy and to understand its origins and evolution. They will also have to know the management and organizational structure of services and social policies, and be able to master a basic professional language.
