Course Contents
The course covers the study of Organisations and Institutions by providing theories and applications based on an approach that is interdisciplinary. It analyses the decision-making processes of organisations and institutions by means of models from rational theory to behavioral and experimental economics; the role that institutions and organisations play in the economy and society both at the national an international level and the effects of policies on the economy and society.

Learning Outcomes
The main objectives of the course are: 1) to offer an introduction to the analysis
of the decision-making processes in organizations and institutions;
2) to understand the dynamics of organizations and institutions ;
3) to understand the importance of Organisations and Institutions in shaping economic and social policies;

There are no prerequisites.
Teaching Methods
Lessons will be mostly in lecture mode with the active participation of students involved in guided tasks.

20% active participation with specific task given to students
40% written exam
40% oral exam

- homo economicus
- the foundations of the neoclassical economics applied to the choices of individuals
- rational choice theory and its implications to the decision making process .
- models of choice based on behavioural and experiential economics
- the role of organisations and institutions in reducing uncertainty
Expected Learning Outcomes
The course aims at providing students with an understanding of the strategies actors may follow in the interactions inside institutions and organisations and also understand what are the implications of such behaviour in the role and activity of such institutions and organisations
