Neurological examination with references to the anatomical and physiological bases of neurology.

Knowledge of the main tests that make up the neurological examination. Interpretation of general and focal neurological signs. In particular, the student, at the end of the course, must know the main maneuvers of the neurological objective examination, applying them on the patient and interpreting any lesion site/system involved.

Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the central and peripheral nervous system and of the muscle.

Lectures using power point presentations, distance teaching is available, using the meet platform. During the lessons various videos performed in the Clinic will be shown which reproduce the real settings and pathologies. Clinical training at SCDU Neurologia, AOU Maggiore Novara, S. "Traditional" interview. The student is asked general questions on diseases listed in the program. The student is provided with paradigmatic clinical cases, and is requested to outline the clinical conduct.The anatofunctional bases, the diagnostic process and the potential treatment are reviewed. The student is tested as for logic reasoning, and knowledge and understanding of neurologic disease. The student is also evaluated for his communication tasks, and the overall ability to deal with specific clinical cases.

2) Examination of cognitive functions (gnosia, praxia, phasia)
3) Examination of the cranial nerves
4) Semiology of motor systems
5) Semiology of sensory functions

The student must be able to perform and interpret the neurological exam.
