The course is composed of 50 hours of face-to-face lessons to be held
during the second term of the academic year.

Learning Outcomes
Students will be required to consolidate their syntactical and lexical
competences and improve the four language skills (reading, listening,
writing, speaking) in order to meet the B2 level standards of the
European Framework. Students will also have to apply the linguistic competences to the specific professional area of studies.
Prerequisites
It is higly recommended to attend the course when possessing a B1 level
of English knowledge.
Teaching Methods
By means of reading and listening tasks, class exercises and team
activities, students will be able to analyse the syntactical and lexical
structures to improve their productive skills. Oral production will be trained in hypothetical professional contexts.

Any students in possession of a language certificate (validity up to two years before the current academic year) must hand it in to Segreteria Studenti before the beginning of the course.
Assessment Methods
Written test: reading and comprehension with multiple choices
or T/F questions; fill in the blanks, reformulation; grammar and ESP vocabulary; test structure First Certificate _ Cambridge.
Detailed Syllabus
Development of language skills and linguistic knowledge required by the
European Framework for B2 level. Use of language competences in professional context together with ESP reading skills and professional oral production.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Students will be required to comprehend a written text and analyse the
content; they will have to prove their ability to rephrase and use both structure and vocabulary in the suitable context.
