Course Contents
The course will provide the tools to understand the management of the complexities related to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, CAR-T cell therapies, to the new biological drugs precision medicine and to clinical trials. Some issues related to bioethical implications of clinical research will be discussed

L'obiettivo formativo del corso e' di rendere lo studente capace di conoscere, interpretare ed analizzare le principali tematiche ematologiche inerenti al corso in maniera critica, come richiesto dal descrittore di Dublino 3.

The exam of Blood Diseases will be based on 12 MCQs (4 possible answers, of which only 1 is correct), on the topics taught during classes
Detailed Syllabus
A. Transplant of hematopoietuc stem cells and CAR-T therapies: autologous transplant; allogeneic transplant; transplant and CAR-T complications complications; Graft versus host diseases (GVHD); CRS and neurotoxicity complexity of transplant procedures

B. Precision Medicine and new drugs in hematoncology: monoclonal antibodies; "small molecules" for target therapies

C. Clinical trials in hematocology: phase I, phase II, phase III; the concept of "benefit sharing" in hematological scientific research; other bioethical issues in clinical research
Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to critically analyse: i) the strategy of transplant procedures of hematopoietic stem cells and CAR-T therapies; ii) the complexity of new drugs in hematoncology; iii) the methodology and problematics of clinical trials in hematoncology
