Rehabilitation. - the relationship between the disabled individual and their disability; - the disabled and the legislation in force - The role of the nurse in rehabilitation: legislation, theoretical model: model of life activities N. Roper; information tools, the reference nurse (example of reference model). The multidimensional evaluation and the evaluation scales. - Physical functional evaluation (Katz-ADL-IADL-BRASS index) - Pain assessment (NO-PAIN, DOLOPLUS 2, PAINAD, VAS, VNS) - Assessment of cognitive function (mini mental test) - The assessment of the affective state (depression scale); - The evaluation of social and assistance activities (relative's stress scale). The elderly. - Nursing assessment based on functional models. - The risk of falls: nursing diagnosis "risk of injury" - Conley, Tinetti and Stratify evaluation scales. Learning Outcomes
The student will have to demonstrate that he is able to apply the knowledge acquired in class in the internship experiences and in the drafting of care plans for patients suffering from chronic and disabling diseases. The module has the following objectives: • Know the principles of care and the peculiar characteristics of the person with neurological problems and the musculoskeletal system, in the acute phase and in the rehabilitation phase • Know the welfare principles and the peculiar characteristics of the elderly person and the disabled person • Understand and recognize the areas of nursing care and the areas of collaboration in an interdisciplinary care context in relation to the type of problems treated during the course • Understand the main care problems and collaborative problems in the care plans related to the pathology of patients in the subject areas of teaching • Apply the knowledge acquired in different care situations • Demonstrate independent judgment and communication skills in relation to assisted persons who have both cognitive and motor deficits
Prerequisites
The student will have to demonstrate that they have the main notions in the clinical field of the pathologies treated during the course and know the ethical-deontological principles that regulate the nursing profession
Teaching Methods
- Frontal lessons with presentations in MS-Power Point format. - Discussion of clinical cases and care situations in order to plan interventions in relation to the areas covered and to develop autonomy of judgment
Assessment Methods
The exam consists of a written test and an oral test.
The written test is made up of clinical cases with multiple choice questions on the scheduled topics, aimed at verifying knowledge and understanding of the disciplines of Neurology, Geriatrics, Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Dietetic Sciences and nursing skills in the pharmacological field.
Passing the narrative test gives access to the oral exam in Clinical Nursing in Chronic Care and Disability.
The oral test aims to evaluate independent judgement, learning ability, communicative ability in explaining and making connections between topics. The student must be able to autonomously use diagnostic reasoning and critical thinking, using and correlating the knowledge learned, addressing in-depth discussion on specific healthcare aspects relating to two situations of people with disabilities and/or chronic conditions.
