Principles of Neurologic Semeiotic

Etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation and diagnosis of selected disease of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Learning Outcomes
Aim of this course is to promote knowledge and understanding of the essential aspects (etiopathogenesis, clinical picture, differential diagnosis and treatment of selected disease of the central and peripheral nervous system. Particulary, attention will be given to the learning of neurological semeiotics.
Prerequisites
The student has to possess basic knowledge in the field of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the nervous system.

Minimum conscience. Confusional state and Delirium,
Locked-In Syndrome, Meningeal signs
Cranial nerves:
Motor and Sensory functions anatomy, evaluation, main
alterations
Higher functions praxis, phasias, gnosias, memory: anatomy,
evaluation, main alterations. : Dementias:
Motor neuron diseases: Myopathies:
Peripheral neuropathies: Demyelinating diseases, Infectious diseases of the CNS,
Cerebrovascular diseases, Epilepsies, Headaches
