Course Contents
1) Criteria for building a health information system: theoretical framework, role of the information system in the health company; information systems (S.I.) and ICT; cycle of information flows; relations between the IT, information, organizational and company systems; role of automation in P.A .; information and data; DBMS and data management; processes and decisions; role of computer networks and unitary network of the Public Administration; life cycle of an S.I.; example of construction and implementation of an S.I. in radiology.
2) The reporting systems; administrative and decision-making reports in health care: characteristics; logical flow of the report; the report in the SSN; report and S.I.; the indicators: clinical and administrative data, MDS. Indicators card (description and critical use).
3) Notes on the main health information flows (SDO, ministerial, outpatient activities, first aid activities, mortality, other additional flows; flows of the crossing of databases).
4) Criteria for the preparation of an IT tool for data management (from collection to decision): 4.1: radiographic images and the digital system (training, sampling, characteristics of the digital image, types of digital images, compression algorithms and formats; acquisition, visualization, graphic processing of images); 4.2: the DICOM standard; 4.3: information systems in radiology; 4.4 Web technology and medical images; 4.5: Information systems in radiology.

Learning Outcomes
The module aims to allow the learning of the principles underlying the design and operation of information processing systems in the health sector, with greater detail for the systems used in radiology (PACS, RIS, HIS.).
Prerequisites
The student must be in possession of basic computer science notions.
Teaching Methods
Video projector and computer; Luminous blackboard; Internet connection for viewing sites relating to the discipline.
Presentations in MS-Power Point format
Students will be provided with a copy of the slides projected.
Assessment Methods
The exam consists of a written or oral test, with possible multiple choice questions, on topics covered during the course.
Since this is a discipline within an integrated course, the examination methods will be agreed with the course coordinator.
The student must demonstrate that they have assimilated the basic notions, learned during lessons and personal study, adequately for use within their own professionalism.
